The recent increase in development of new casino operations in Macau has seen each new operator aiming to capture its share of the market. A number of new “Themed” casinos have emerged of which “Casino Golden Dragon” is the latest.

Casino Golden Dragon is a unique concept. Its aim is to produce a lively, colourful, festive atmosphere, by recreating and blending elements of festivals from around the world.

The main facilities include the entry lobby and retail shops, the slot machine gaming hall, the casino entrys on 2 levels, main gaming floor over 2 levels, 2 bars, a coffee shop, and a noodle bar, as well as 6 VIP rooms.

The underlying theme “Carnival Du Monde” meaning Carnivals of the world is mostly based on the festivals such as Rio de Janeiro’s “Carnivale”, and New Orleans’ “Mardi Gras”.

The main entry to the Casino is through the main 3 storey void where you can either move up to the Casino gaming areas via escalator, elevator or an illuminated glass stair that constantly changes colour. Above the void is suspended a feature light representing the icon of Casino Golden Dragon.

The Main Gaming floors recreate the atmosphere of festive floats and huge carnival masks against the backdrop of a swirling evening sky.

The slot area is based on the Spanish fire festival “Las Fallas” including a Spanish streetscape, reproductions of its famous paper mache sculptures, and a “fireworks” lighting effect on the ceiling.

The 6 VIP Rooms are representative of different festivals from around the world including the Caribbean festival from Trinidad, the famous mask festival held in Venice, a Bohemian celebration from 19th Century Paris, New Orleans Mardi Gras, the Rio Carnivale and a representation of Chinese Dragon dancing.

This ambitious concept will provide a unique gaming environment within which visitors to Macau will be able to taste a little of the festivals from around the globe.
